When I Meet Nightbirde (poem)

When I meet Nightbirde

I’m going to smile that knowing smile that only those who understand can appreciate. 

I’ll tell her I’m sorry for the wait. 

When I meet Nightbirde 

I’ll join her in song if the chance is given. 

Together we will share our stories of courage and triumph of making it to Heaven.  

When I meet Nightbirde 

I’m going to thank her for the strength she gave to me when I had none. 

I’ll tell her she’s not alone now, our agony is done.

When I meet Nightbirde 

We will celebrate that our pain was left behind.

Finally, our mental anguish will be over and we’ll have peace of mind.

When I meet Nightbirde

We will look down on everyone from above.

She and I will send nothing but love. 

When I meet Nightbirde 

I’ll share with her this poem.

When I see her next to God, I’ll know that I am home.
